About Us
Florida and the nation are in a healthcare crisis. Florida has the fourth-highest uninsured rate in the country. Those with health insurance still pay thousands each year in premiums, deductibles, copays, and uncovered expenses. In 2021, a group of Floridians decided we’d had enough and formed the Medicare for All Florida Organizing Committee. In 2022, we became the Board of Directors for our newly incorporated not-for-profit organization, Medicare for All Florida. We are a working, all-volunteer Board to be elected by dues-paying members.
Each year, the organization hosts the Florida Medicare for All Virtual Town Hall, which features a keynote speech by a sitting member of Congress, remarks from expert speakers, and opportunities to get involved in upcoming events and campaigns. The event is co-sponsored by dozens of local, state, and national like-minded organizations.
We host a virtual statewide meeting each month featuring guest speakers and activities. The Board and members can also be found tabling at events and giving presentations on universal healthcare throughout Florida. We would be happy to table at your event or present virtually or in person at your organization’s meetings. Please use the form on the Contact page to inquire about working together for a national healthcare program.
