Insulin Cap and Single Payer Study Bills for Florida
In addition to the Healthy Florida Act, two bills we advocated for are an Insulin Bill to cap the cost of this life-saving medicine to $35.00 and a Single Payer Study Bill to create the Task Force on Universal Healthcare, which would research the feasibility of a universal healthcare system for the State of Florida and produce findings and recommendations on such a system. Sen. Carlos Guillermo Smith introduced the Task Force on Universal Healthcare with bill number SB1670. The $35/month Insulin copay cap bill was introduced by Sen. Carlos Guillermo Smith in the Senate as SB1676 and was introduced by Rep. Marie Woodson as HB1463 in the Florida House.
